Happy New Year

To everyone following us on this blogg - we hope you had a very nice Christmas and we wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year. We took a well deserved break over the holidays and will be back with updates as soon as we start with the top floor.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        

Getting settled

We are done moving for quite some time and starting now to get settled in our new house. We are very pleased with everything. We started with some setbacks when we moved in - the plumber was not quite done so the first night we did not have any water, it took some time before the heating pump was working the way it should be and in the end the water froze (luckily outside of our property even though for us the result was the same - no water). But all that made us just appreciate even more how nice we have it now in this house - always the right temperature in all rooms, fresh air, the luxury of two bathrooms and a decent size living room, kitchen, bedrooms, a washing room and a tv corner.

Also inside the house things are falling in its place after a Trondheim trip last weekend with quite some shopping at a big furniture store. Here now the first pictures - more are coming as soon as there are more things ready to be shown. :)

We moved!

Now we have been living in the new house for a couple of days. Last weekend we have been to Trondheim to do some IKEA shopping. We came back with a hanger full of stuff. Now we are building everything up and putting it in its place and than I will put up some updated pictures. Until then everyone just has to be patient.

We are getting there. Eline and Karoline tried it out and concluded that its "walkable" :-)

Also the doors and windows for the basement arrived and are now stored in a dry place.

Laying floors: Checkmark!

This weekend we finished laying the floor. Its now left to put on the lists on the roof, the floor and putting in the door frames. The tiling in the big bathroom is done as well. Now we need to do the grouting and hopefully the plumber comes soon to finish off.

Outside we were able to do some foundation work on the balcony pillars and continued the walk path to the entrance area.

Painting: Checkmark!

Everything has been painted now inside. The weather was so nice this weekend that we could do some outside work - cleaning up the area and collected all the materials that got scattered around by the storm and continuing the work on the entrance area.

Old House sold...

... now we focus on moving. Some boxes with stuff have already been moved over. The masterbedroom and the hallway still needs some paint, the tiling in the bathrooms has to be finished and the floor needs to be laid in the bedroom and the hallway. We hope to be so far done after this weekend that the plumber can connect everything next week so we can apply for permisssion to live there at Vikna kommune. We are in fact getting close to living there. We aim for end of November. :-)

While Roger and me were preparing the old house for the viewing tomorrow we had his parents who were helping us a lot in the new house so we can finish the inside work soon. Thanks a lot for the big help!

Plastering: Checkmark!

Today I finished the plastering of the hallway, the last bit in the master bedroom and the small living room. I started sanding it down and I hope it will all turn out just fine so the priming can begin.

We also put some plasterboards in the storage area in the basement. This has been treated over the weekend and today I primed it once to protect the surface. Now we can put up some shelves and start to move some stuff over to the new house.

The old house has been put out for sale now. Viewing will be next Monday. Hopefully everything will go smooth with the sale.

Today the plumber came and put up the frame for the wall mounted toilets in both bathrooms. He also connected all the pipes in between the modules so we can screw on the last wall sheets now and finish the plastering and painting.

The entrance area is also built up now.

Entrance area & fire place

Trønder Element returned to install the fire place and the entrance area of the house today. Latter they could not finish cause the crane that is used to build up the house of our neighbours did not reach to lift the roof section of the entrance area. Tomorrow comes another crane so they can finish the job.

Inside plastering continues. Tomorrow the plumber comes so hopefully we will be able to put the last wall sheets in place and can maybe finish plastering and painting this weekend. We will see...
