Day 18 - We took over...

Day 17 - Roof tiles are laid

Today they finished the roof. It was too dark to take a picture after they finished this evening but the ones below show how far they had come around 5 this afternoon.

Day 16 - YAY - the missing part has arrived

Just this minutes the missing part has been unloaded on our property. Now the workers can come and do the rest so we can finally get in the house and make it ready to move in. Nearly two weeks later than we had hoped for - but how is the saying...? If you are waiting for something good you can not wait too long. :)

So everyone that has waited for more pictures - I am sure at the end of this week I can start to load up more. Things are on the move again! :)

We are standing still...

... and this is the reason we have not updated anything here. There is nothing new to tell.

The part that we found out was missing when the house was built up has not yet arrived. We were hoping it would be here by Monday but nothing came. We were told it had left the factory in Sweden on Friday - so it should arrive some time this week. We don't know when, in fact no one knows when except maybe for the driver of the truck/car this part is traveling with. We will just have to wait and hope and see.

In the meanwhile they started digging to connect all properties with electricity - so a little bit is well happening anyways.

Day 2 - Roof tiles arrived

Today the carpenters worked from 9 a. m. until late at night and continued to get the house ready. A lot of the work was inside work we could not see but hear. Also the roof tiles came. They put them out on the roof. Now we hope that the missing piece for the ark is coming soon so they can finish the roof.

Day 1 - Construction of the house

At 7 o'clock they wanted to start with the assembling of the house, so we did our best to be there in time. Given the fact that we were waiting up the night before until all trucks arrived this meant not more than one hour sleep. But we were so excited about everything that we were wide awake. When we arrived in the morning they hadstarted to unpack the first module so we could take a little sneak into our future kitchen. The first attempt to lift the kitchen module in place failed because the crane was with one foot standing on a soft spot and came in some unbalance when he tried to swing the module around. So they had to abort and fix the position of the crane. To fix this took about an hour and they started to lift the first module in place about at 08:30 a.m. At 10:00 a.m. all 3 modules of the first floor were in place and the work on the roof could begin.

The ark should have been build up today as well, but they forgot to load one part for it at the factory and have to send it after now - but hopefully it arrives soon.

Tomorrow the work continues with the roof tiles.

The house arrived...

... here in Rørvik at 4:45 a.m.

Around 3:20 tonight we decided to drive in direction Kolvereid to see if we see the convoi coming. A little bit outside of Foldereid we spotted all the lights, turned around so we would not end up behind the convoi and drove back to Rørvik to get a good view on everything. Too bad it was so much fog that we had no chance seeing it while driving over the Nærøysund Bridge.

Now its all about staying awake until they start with the assembling.

The day before - T-1

The big day is coming closer. Right now the carpenters are checking that all adjustments are made. The crane has arrived and is standing in place.

Now we wait for the house to come over the bridge. Tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. they start to assemble the house.

Waiting for the house - T -4

The last corrections on the foundation are being made these days as well as the foundation for the entrance area so everything will be ready for the big day. The house is backfilled and a place where teh crane can stand is prepared. Tuesday morning we hopefully can see how our new house is going to be set up. Exciting!!!
